Dr. Zhao has been promoted to full professor for the second time. She first received this promotion in spring 2020 while she was a faculty member at Michigan Technological University. Dr. Zhao is very confident in her professorship after two rounds of extensive evaluation. Congratulations, Dr. Zhao!

Eric Wang Wins Outstanding Senior Engineer Award
Eric Wang, a senior in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Texas A&M University, received the Craig C. Brown Outstanding Senior Engineer Award, the most prestigious award bestowed upon a graduating senior in the College of Engineering at Texas A&M.
The award recognizes a student who demonstrates outstanding academic and leadership achievements and whose character exceeds standards.

Alvis and Archita received the BME Graduate Student Scholarship
Alvis Chiu and Archita Sharma were each awarded a BME Graduate Student Scholarship for the fall 2023 semester from the department of Biomedical Engineering at Texas A&M. Alvis and Archita each received a scholarship of $1,000 and a non-resident tuition waiver for fall 2023, spring 2024 and summer 2024. They were two of the numerous applicants for this competitive scholarship; congratulations on your award.

Dr. Zhao has been elected to the 2023 class of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) College of Fellows for her significant contribution in addressing critical challenges in cardiovascular regeneration and skin wound healing, her service to the biomedical profession, and inspiring female and minority students to participate in STEM.
