Zhao lab presented at the 5th Annual Gulf Coast Vascular Research Consortium (GVRC) meeting in College Station on August 4-5, 2023. Dr. Zhao gave a talk titled “Structured cell-derived extracellular matrix for vascular bioengineering”. Alvis, Te-An, and Archita presented their doctoral research. Alvis presented a poster titled “Pharmaceutical Wnt Activation, Oscillatory Shear Stress, and Shear Stress Gradients Synergistically Activate Lymphatic Valve Genes”. Te-An presented a poster titled “Prevascularization of Tissue-Engineered Cardiac Patch using Human Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell Derived Endothelial Cells”. Archita presented a poster titled “Evaluating Innate Immune Response and Patency of Engineered Perfusable Tissue Constructs”.

Sarah Voon presented a poster titled “Tissue Engineered Aligned Micro-Vessels for Wound Healing.” Eric Wang gave an oral presentation titled “Novel Highly Aligned and Porous ECM Patch for Wound Healing.” The presentations were part of the LAUNCH Undergraduate Thesis program.
